Minibar

Minibars are specialized refrigerators that allow us to store beverages and food in a fresh, ideal temperature, and comfortable manner in relaxation areas. Therefore, they are widely used in public spaces, especially in the accommodation and healthcare sectors. Initially, silent and vibration-free absorption system minibars were produced; however, nowadays, compressor-type minibars are also manufactured due to changes in climate conditions and usage habits.

Especially in hotels and hospitals, the technical and cosmetic condition of minibars used directly by customers or guests is of utmost importance; they should be regularly checked and, if necessary, replaced after their economic life of 9 to 11 years.

High-Quality Hotel Type Minibars

Absorption Minibar

The system, recognized as the origin of refrigerator manufacturing in history, is widely preferred by hotels due to its unique advantages: it operates without any vibration or noise. This is achieved through a method in which no mechanical components are used, eliminating vibration and noise entirely. Instead, the system relies on heating a liquid cooling solution containing an ammonia-water mixture with a resistance.

The resistance operates for most of the day to maintain the constant heat required by the cooling gas. Cooling performance in this system is measured using the fixed DELTA-T value, enabling refrigeration within a temperature range of +4°C to +14°C under ambient conditions of 16°C to 32°C. The cooling performance is calculated by subtracting the DELTA-T value (20°C) from the ambient temperature.

For optimal functionality, particularly when the minibar is placed inside a cabinet, proper ventilation must be carefully planned to ensure efficient cooling.

Compressor Minibar

The compressor cooling system is the most widely used cooling system in the world. However, due to its higher technological requirements, it is less commonly used in minibar manufacturing.

While the absorption system minibar operates completely silently, the compressor system minibar produces a sound level of 38 decibels, which complies with hotel sound standards.

The compressor system minibar is especially preferred in hot climates because it can cool to +2°C to +8°C, even in ambient temperatures as high as 43°C. In recent years, it has gained popularity primarily due to its energy efficiency, reducing energy consumption by 85% (A+++ energy rating) compared to the absorption system.
